Galway will now face Munster champions Limerick in the All-Ireland semi-final. It now looks like the game will be played on Sunday 17th August at 1.30pm in Croke Park.

 Despite their dissappointing defeat by Tipperary at Thurles, Galway this year played eight championship debutants during their three championship games in two weeks. They were the Burke brothers Ronan and Daithi, Gearoid McInerney with Padraig Behony, Jonathan Glynn, Jason Flynn, Cathal Mannon and Paul Killeen who will line out with the county's Under21 side.
